Darwin Nunez has been praised for making the experience of a young Chelsea mascot memorable at yesterday's Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.

The league champions took on Chelsea, who are battling for a European spot.

Despite a 3-1 defeat, the away end remained in high spirits as the singing and chanting continued.

The heavily rotated squad saw six changes to the starting lineup with Wataru Endo making his first start of the Premier League season.

Nunez was among the substitutes when he made an appearance late in the second half.

Off the pitch, the striker helped to put a smile on the face of a Chelsea mascot.

10-year-old Tony Hudgell walked out with Cole Palmer ahead of the match, but on Good Morning Britain it was the Red that was highly praised for his kind gesture.

Tony, who is a double amputee is a huge Chelsea fan and was able to walk out on to the pitch at Stamford Bridge on his new prosthetic legs.

After only having had the legs fitted a couple of days ago, Tony said "they're going really well."

He added: "I can now do some things that I couldn't do", and when asked by GMB host Ranvir what he can now do, he said "play football".

Tony's mum added that he also wears them around the house.

Speaking to Ed Balls and Ranvir, the young football fan said "So someone in the Liverpool team gave me their shin pad…Darwin Nunez."

He added: “It was before the game, so mum was worrying if he played with just one shin pad!” The striker came on after the hour mark during the match, missing a headed chance as the Reds were chasing the game.

While Tony is a Chelsea fan, his adoptive mum Paula Hudgell previously told GMB: “He was over the moon because being Liverpool as well, there’s a couple of players he idolises from Liverpool.”
