Portugal defender Pepe "won all of the balls" in their duels.
Liverpool striker Nunez started alongside Edison Cavani in attack for Uruguay as Luis Suarez was dropped to the bench.
They also mentioned veteran Pepe, stating how he "neutralised" Nunez in matches between Porto and Benfica last season.

Nunez struggled to get into the game for Uruguay after being deployed in a 4-4-2 formation and was criticised by a frustrated media in his homeland.
ESPN Uruguay gave Nunez a rating of 4 out of 10 as they touched on lack of service: "The ball did not reach him."
