Liverpool’s summer overhaul is far from done as two of their out-of-favour forwards look set for the exit door.
Arne Slot has overseen a huge spending spree at Anfield so far this summer with an outlay of close to £300million, and a further £130m brought in by the sales of several big-name and fringe players alike.
Tyler Morton is the most recent player to leave Liverpool after completing a £15m move to Lyon, and he follows Luis Diaz out the door after the Colombian moved to Bayern Munich for over £60m on 30 July.
Diaz’s departure is the first of three big-money exits planned by Liverpool in order to raise funds for the club’s pursuit of Alexander Isak, and that plan now looks set to take another significant step forward.

Havrey Elliott and Darwin Nunez are the two other names on Slot’s list of players who will make room for Isak, and the latter’s proposed move to Al-Hilal opens the door for Liverpool to sign a new number nine.
The Athletic have since reported on 6 August that the Saudi Pro League side have reached a £42.6m agreement in principle for the Liverpool striker, and Nunez has verbally “indicated a willingness” to move.

Nunez started and scored for Liverpool against Athletic Bilbao in the first of two friendlies on Monday, netting just fifth minute into a 4-1 win and being replaced by Lewis Koumas 10 minutes before full-time.
Koumas, who spent last season out on loan at Stoke City and could well be touted for another move this summer, posted on Instagram after the game (5 August), with the message of: “Back at Anfield”.
Nunez was one of several Reds players to comment on Koumas’ post, leaving a comment of flames and applause emojis as he prepares to potentially say his goodbyes.

Football Insider Verdict
Nunez’s departure from Anfield has been touted since before last season ended, but that exit could now be accelerated after Liverpool and Al-Hilal reached an agreement which could be finalised within days.
Liverpool have already smashed their transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and adding to this with another move of up to £150m for Isak would be a massive statement of intent.
After Liverpool saw an initial bid of £110m rejected by Newcastle for Isak, Diaz and Nunez’s exits look set to raise most of the required funds for the Swede’s transfer fee, as a ready-made replacement for their outgoing number nine looms.
