Darwin Nunez has thanked Liverpool fans for 'always having his back' after completing a transfer to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal over the weekend.
The Uruguay striker, 26, moved to Merseyside three years ago but found himself surplus to requirements at Anfield ahead of the new season with Hugo Ekitike signed from Eintracht Frankfurt and Alexander Isak also a target for the newly minted Premier League champions.
Nunez was often used from the bench by Arne Slot and started just eight Premier League games last season, scoring five times across 30 appearances in total.
And after agreeing a transfer worth around £46.3million, Nunez has penned a touching farewell message to Liverpool supporters on social media.

They have also sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich but it remains to be seen, though, if a deal for Isak can be done with Newcastle playing hardball over their star striker.

Speaking after Sunday's loss in the Community Shield to Crystal Palace, Virgil van Dijk stressed that he felt the club needed further additions in attack, referencing the fact that both Nunez and Diaz have now moved on.
"Well, we just lost Darwin, he went to Saudi and we lost Lucho [Luis Diaz], obviously he went to Bayern," the Reds captain told talkSPORT.
"I think there's always room for an attacker in order to strengthen us so let's see what the window brings in terms of the balance of the team."
