Darwin Nunez might not arrive at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona as Napoli are reportedly considering moving on to other options for multiple reasons.

Nunez is expected to leave Anfield this summer.

The Uruguayan forward joined the club in 2022 but hasn’t lived up to expectations during his three seasons at Liverpool.



As per various sources, both the club and the player may now decide to part ways.

Liverpool paid nearly £85m to Benfica to sign him in 2022, making him the most expensive signing during Jurgen Klopp’s era.

But after scoring just 5 goals in the Premier League last season, questions were raised about his future.

New manager Arne Slot reportedly doesn’t see Nunez as part of his project and even dropped him from the starting lineup in key games last season.

His exit looked inevitable when several clubs identified him as a target last month, with Napoli emerging as the front-runner.

Napoli are not willing to match Liverpool’s asking price and are reportedly considering alternatives.

The second reason is Nunez’s high wage demand.

The Premier League champions are holding firm on their €70m valuation, while Napoli reportedly value the player at nearly half that amount.
