Darwin Nunez has delivered an insane mix of remarkable and shocking moments during his spell at Liverpool.

After long-term speculation over his future at Anfield, the Uruguayan has agreed a reported deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal of £56.6million (Sky Sports).

Signing from Benfica for a mammoth fee in July 2022, the Uruguayan never really settled in Merseyside despite showing flashes of brilliance throughout his two seasons.

The 26-year-old is one of the most chaotic and unpredictable strikers the Premier League has ever seen, you never really knew what he was going to do next.

With that in mind Football Insider has taken a look at the highs and lows of the number nine as he packs his bags for the Middle East.

After wowing in his English top-flight debut against Fulham with a goal and an assist, things quickly turned sour for the Uruguayan.

After falling 1-0 down to Palace, the forward was involved in an altercation with defender Joachim Andersen who waved a finger at him in anger.

The number nine responded ferociously, head-butting the Dane and getting sent off in the process in a shameful way to introduce yourself to the Anfield crowd.

The former Benfica forward’s time with the Reds has been stained by his reoccurring ability to miss absolute sitters.

In a tense 2-2 draw with a plucky Villa side, the South American was squared the ball by Dominik Szoboszlai as an open goal stared him in the face.

Yet, with the back of the net at his mercy, the 26-year-old completely missed the target, skying the ball up into the stands of Villa Park, dearie me.

A notorious moment in Premier League history was Liverpool-turned-Chelsea striker Torres’ open goal miss against Man United.

Well, Nunez followed in his footsteps with his own rendition of the infamous instance against Toulouse in the Europa League.

After, rounding the keeper, the Uruguayan had a nice easy opportunity to stroke the ball into the back of the net.

However, the forward managed to strike the post, summing up his topsy turvy time on Merseyside in a nutshell.

Against a resolute Brentford side, time was running out for the Reds to snatch a win at the Gtech Stadium last season.

Step up one man, Nunez, as he smacked in two goals in the 90+1 and 90+3 minutes to seal a stunning victory for his side.

In his typical chaotic fashion, the number nine had only been on for 25 minutes when he smashed home his first goal, talk about an impact sub.

With the forward, you either expected the utter worst or the absolute best, never anything in between.

This was certainly apparent in the Reds’ Champions League tie against the European champions as he delightfully tucked away a cheeky backheel to send the Anfield faithful delirious.

Ultimately, the Spanish outfit fought back to win 5-2 but, another showing of Nunez magic was the major talking point of the night.

During his time with Liverpool, the ex-Almeria frontman had to endure consistent jeering from rival fans regarding his usual poor displays.

Yet, in an EFL League Cup tie against the Cherries, after facing the Vitality Stadium’s wrath the whole night, the South American silenced the home crowd.

Picking the ball up on the left hand side, the 26-year-old cut in and walloped a curling ball past the Bournemouth keeper from around 22-yards out, shushing the crowd in celebration.
