The Uruguayan forward left Liverpool in the summer in a £46.2m move to Saudi Arabia.
Nunez, 26, opened his goalscoring account over the weekend as he found the net in a 2-2 draw with Al-Qadsiah.
And it did not take him long to fire home from Hamad Al-Yami’s pass to level matters.

French international Theo Hernandez scored 10 minutes later to turn the game around in Al-Hilal’s favour.
Nunez immediately took to social media to share his delight over his latest strike and also send a reminder to Liverpool fans of the quality he does possess.
He shared a number of images of him celebrating alongside the caption: “Vamos,” with a blue heart.
Barcelona star and Nunez’s Uruguay team-mate Ronald Araujo was among those to react as he replied with a muscle and fire emoji.
Nunez will no doubt be aiming to extend his positive recent form in Al-Hilal’s next outing.
To all the staff and my teammates - thank you and all the very best for the future.”
Mohamed Salah was among those to have given Nunez a glowing farewell message, while the Liverpool star also spoke out to defend the striker after it was claimed that the signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle represented an ‘upgrade’.
