Ramsey is said to be “unhappy” at Aston Villa and he wants to kickstart his career with a move away from the Midlands club this summer.

Spurs were backed to complete the signing of Ramsey, but he remains at Aston Villa having appeared for the club in pre-season.

Ramsey now wants to join Newcastle, and the data backs up why the Howe wants to the add the player to his midfield.

Howe would like to add another midfielder to his squad after letting Sean Longstaff join Leeds United earlier in the window.

Ramsey started 19 matches at Villa in the Premier League last season and when given the opportunity to play under Unai Emery, the midfielder performed.

The Villa star also created 21 chances for his team mates, as he cemented himself as a creative midfielder capable of making things happen in the final third whilst being tidy in possession.

A creative midfielder who can all play on the wing would add versatility to Howe’s options which are currently limited due to Isak’s absence and the possibility of Anthony Gordon having to give up his position on the left flank to play up top.
