David Ornstein confirms how long Alexander Isak's Liverpool contract will be as Reds agree record deal

Liverpool agreed an overnight deal with Newcastle to sign Alexander Isak for a British record transfer fee.
The Reds have been pushing all summer to sign Isak, but with deadline day finally here, it looked as though their time might have run out.
But, with many Liverpool fans tucked up in bed following a super win over Arsenal, Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards were still hard at work.
As widely reported, Liverpool have agreed a £125m price with Newcastle, which will see Isak arrive at Anfield immediately.
The 25-year-old will undergo a medical on Monday, bringing an end to one of the most divisive transfer sagas of all time.
And as Isak finally prepares to become a Red, journalist David Ornstein has revealed how long his Liverpool contract will be.

Perhaps the biggest point of anguish for Newcastle fans in seeing Isak down tools this summer has been how long he has left on his contract.
Having signed a six-year deal in 2022, the Sweden international still has three years left to run on his deal.

But despite him and his agent arguably having been stung by signing such a lengthy deal, Ornstein says Isak is about to do the same at Liverpool.
“Alexander Isak from Newcastle United to Liverpool on 6yr contract now all in place + ready to complete on DeadlineDay after final talks between clubs late on Sunday night produced agreement for NUFC striker to make LFC move & end saga,” says the reporter.

According to Ornstein’s colleague at The Athletic, James Pearce, Isak’s medical will take place on Monday morning.
“It’s a done deal.

Liverpool breaking their transfer record for the second time this summer,” Pearce writes.
While Liverpool fans will be waking up with huge smiles on their faces on Monday morning, none will be happier than Isak himself who has stuck to his guns and secured his dream move.
And according to journalist Lewis Steele, the 25-year-old has even made sure he’s had a fresh haircut to look as sharp as possible for his arrival at Liverpool.
“Told Alexander Isak will sign a six-year deal at Liverpool and a medical is scheduled for the morning,” says Steele.
“The champions will pay total package £125m.
Later, Liverpool will push for Marc Guehi too.
It is going to be a big day at Anfield.
