Luis Diaz & Alexander Isak Transfer Update
Liverpool are actively pursuing a significant squad reshuffle amid ongoing summer transfer developments. The Reds are reportedly preparing a record-breaking bid exceeding £120 million for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, a 25-year-old striker who has expressed his desire to leave Newcastle to explore new opportunities. Newcastle, however, remain hesitant to sell without securing a replacement, complicating negotiations. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool’s steadfast interest and readiness to make a substantial offer if Newcastle open the door, while rivals like Al Hilal are not currently contenders for Isak.[1]
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are pressing ahead with efforts to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, preparing to submit a third and reportedly final offer capped at €80 million. Although Liverpool can afford to retain Diaz, the financial incentive may be compelling enough to accept Bayern’s bid, especially with plans to reinvest in Isak. Bayern’s pursuit is partly informed by indications from Diaz’s camp about a potential transfer. Liverpool may consider this as an opportunity to balance squad needs and finances.[2][4]
In anticipation of these transfers, Liverpool are also exploring other options for Diaz’s potential replacement. Anthony Gordon of Newcastle is reportedly back on Liverpool’s radar as a possible target, having been the subject of a previously collapsed £75 million deal. However, Gordon’s own future may depend on the outcome of the Isak pursuit, given Newcastle’s reluctance to lose multiple key attackers simultaneously. Should Liverpool secure Isak, it might reduce the likelihood of targeting additional forwards in this window.[3]
To facilitate the high-profile signing of Isak, Liverpool may also plan to offload up to seven players, reflecting a broader squad overhaul strategy to manage finances and squad balance effectively.[5]
