Liverpool may be playing on Monday, but all eyes are on the transfer market at Anfield.

The Reds are set to play their penultimate game of the season as they travel to face Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

It will not be an easy task for Liverpool, who are yet to register a win after securing the Premier League title in April.

But, whatever happens down on the south coast, no Reds supporter will be too fussed.

Jeremie Frimpong has completed part of his medical and is all ready to become the latest addition to the Liverpool squad.

As Reds players and supporters begin their long journey to Brighton, it seems they may be celebrating Frimpong’s arrival before the day is out.

Liverpool fans have been starved of action in the transfer window ever since Arne Slot arrived in 2024.

The Reds chose to stay quiet last summer and, although that strategy ultimately worked, they are unlikely to get away with it for a second year running.

Thankfully, the Liverpool owners appear to know that better than anyone and have moved quickly to get Frimpong through the door.

And according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Reds couldn’t be happier having secured a ‘unique market opportunity.’ Furthermore, Plettenberg predicts Frimpong will be done by Monday.

“A decisive day for Jeremie Frimpong, who is expected to become a new player for FC Liverpool today!” the reporter posted on X.

“The medical is set to be completed today, as previously reported.

The contract signing, valid until 2030, is to follow.

“Once again confirmed: Frimpong was a desired signing for the right flank by Arne Slot.

Quality, price, age, and versatility — LFC see the Frimpong package as a unique opportunity on the market.”

While Frimpong seems likely to sign on as a new Liverpool player on Monday, it remains to be seen whether his arrival will be officially announced.

The Reds are focused on the clash against Brighton and perhaps that will take precedence.

Either way, whether it’s Monday, Tuesday or beyond, it seems purely a matter of time before Frimpong is a Red.

If the deal is confirmed over the coming days, it is unlikely that the Dutchman would join until June 1st, anyway.

Even though the Bundesliga season is already complete, there is no chance of Frimpong being involved in the title celebrations next week or the subsequent parade.

But having sorted this exciting deal out nice and early, Frimpong can at least go away on holiday before reporting at the Liverpool training ground on day one of pre-season.
