Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has acknowledged the intensity of matches against Liverpool, describing a sense of “chaos” when facing the Reds.

This season, Liverpool and Arsenal clashed three times, with varying outcomes: one win for Liverpool, one draw, and one loss for the Gunners.

In January, Jurgen Klopp’s side triumphed over Arsenal in the FA Cup third-round tie at Emirates Stadium, while they were held to a draw at home and suffered a defeat in the Premier League match in the capital.

Both teams have been locked in a title battle with Manchester City in recent months.

However, Arsenal are now pursuing the title on their own after Liverpool’s recent results all but dashed their hopes of claiming the top spot.

Reflecting on pivotal matches that have shaped Arsenal’s current standing, Rice highlighted the 1-1 draw between the two teams at Anfield in December as one of his favourite matches since joining the London club.

Speaking about his experience during this winter fixture, the England international opened up about the intensity of the encounter.

“The way they play, the football they play, it’s like a chaos game that they create,” the former West Ham United midfielder said.

“Balls in behind from Trent Alexander-Arnold constantly, picking up the second balls, re-delivering, second phase, third phase, fourth phase — they’re just relentless at it.

But that game I absolutely loved.”

Declan Rice has been a key cog for Mikel Arteta this season following his transfer from West Ham last summer.

The 25-year-old has made 48 appearances, scored six goals, and provided nine assists in all competitions for the Gunners who are vying for the league title with Manchester City with just three matches left to play but Pep Guardiola’s side has one game in hand.
