Alongside Anderson’s first England senior call-up, Tottenham ace Djed Spence has also been selected for the Three Lions for the first time in his career.

The fullback helped Spurs win the Europa League last term, making four appearances in the competition.

On 29 August, England’s official Instagram account shared: “From our Young Lions to the Three Lions.

Djed Spence is ready to continue his England journey!”

After England came close to winning silverware under former boss Gareth Southgate, Tuchel is under pressure to deliver for the national team.

However, during the last international break, the national team were stale as they earned an unconvincing 1-0 win over Andorra, before losing to Senegal at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.

Meanwhile, the selections of uncapped duo Anderson and Spence show that Tuchel is keen to inject fresh energy into his squad for the upcoming clashes with Andorra and Serbia.

The Three Lions boss’ previous exploits in the international dugout have left a lot of questions to answer, while Anderson excelled for Lee Carsley’s Under-21 side this summer.

Meanwhile, Spence proved himself as a key player for Tottenham last term, making 35 appearances across all competitions for the North Londoners.

The defender has featured in all three of Thomas Frank’s competitive games in charge of Spurs, including back-to-back wins over Burnley and Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Frank’s men have been backed to sign West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta in a Tottenham News exclusive.
