Derby County’s summer recruitment will have Liverpool fans seeing plenty of familiar faces.
Owen Beck, the 21-year-old left-back, has joined them on loan after impressing with Blackburn Rovers last season.
New Derby manager John Eustace was his coach with the Rovers last season, and he played a big part in Beck joining the Rams for another stint in the Championship.
His arrival was closely followed that of Rhian Brewster, who joined Derby on a free transfer from Sheffield United.
Brewster’s time at Sheffield United proved deeply frustrating.
Persistent hamstring injuries severely hampered his progress, with the striker missing significant periods across multiple seasons.
He will be hoping to turn a new page after a difficult stage in his career.
And now another former Liverpool man has signed for the club.
Indeed, Derby County has announced the signing of former Red Bobby Clark on a season-long loan from RB Salzburg.
The Austrian giants snapped up the signing of Bobby Clark from Liverpool for £10 million last summer, but the move did not really work out for both parties.
When Pep Lijnders departed the Austrian giants, Clark struggled for game time and saw himself out of the matchday squads entirely towards the end of the campaign.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see the former Liverpool man seek regular football in the Championship this season.
Speaking to RamsTV, the 20-year-old explained why he made the choice to join Derby County:
“Once I found out Derby were interested, I had a chance to speak with the manager and the staff?
With his goals and the way he is aligned with me, it seemed right.”
“I think he [manager John Eustace] knows that I’m at a point where I want to prove people wrong, and I’m hungry to play football again, especially being back in the UK.”
“It’s a great league and I just want to kick on here.”
Over three seasons at Anfield, he featured 14 times in senior competition, scored once – netting against Sparta Prague in the Europa League – and collected a League Cup winners’ medal in 2024.
He made his senior debut as a substitute in the famous 9-0 victory over Bournemouth in August 2022.
