The transfer season is in full swing, with Liverpool closing in on a deal for Alexander Isak.

DaveOCKOP.com exclusively reported on Friday that Liverpool is ready to make a new bid for Alexander Isak that could total £140 million.

Owen Beck has secured a season-long move to Championship side Derby County after signing a new long-term contract at Anfield, whilst Isaac Mabaya completed his loan switch to League One outfit Wigan Athletic earlier today.

The 20-year-old defender, who made his competitive Liverpool debut as a substitute in February’s FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle, represents the latest academy graduate to benefit from the club’s strategic approach to player development.

But one former Liverpool man who has failed to establish himself at Anfield has now also found a home in the Championship.

Rhian Brewster has officially signed for Derby County on a two-year deal following his release from Sheffield United.

Brewster emerged as one of Liverpool’s brightest prospects after joining from Chelsea’s academy in 2015, capturing global attention with his Golden Boot triumph at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup where he netted eight goals for England

Brewster scored prolifically for the club’s youth teams and was even included in the matchday squad for the 2019 Champions League Final against Tottenham, collecting a winner’s medal despite remaining an unused substitute.

However, breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s star-studded first team proved challenging, with the striker managing just four competitive appearances across cup competitions.

A move to Sheffield United proved deeply frustrating.

Persistent hamstring injuries severely hampered his progress, with the striker missing significant periods across multiple seasons.

His debut Premier League campaign yielded zero goals in 27 appearances, whilst subsequent seasons were punctuated by lengthy spells on the treatment table.

But the 25-year-old now gets a second chance in the Championship, and revealed his feelings on joining Derby County to the club’s media channels:

“I’m very happy and very delighted to join this great club,” he said.

“It’s been busy, but after speaking to all the boys and the manager and stuff like that, it was a no-brainer.”

“I feel this is a big opportunity for me – and one I had to grab with two hands.

I believe that will happen here with the manager, staff and players alongside helping me along the way.”
