Jamie Vardy looks to have made his decision on which club he wants to join next after more than two months out of the game.
Vardy left Leicester City at the end of last season, after 13 years at the club, and is now a free agent weighing up his next move.
It was exclusively revealed by Football Insider in July that Birmingham City had made a move to sign Vardy, but Scottish club Rangers were also pursuing a deal for the striker.
Celtic though looked to have won the race for Vardy, with the Hoops looking to add to their strike force before the transfer window shuts.
Vardy is currently a free agent.
Rodgers managed Vardy during his four years at Leicester City, when he guided the Foxes to the FA Cup and two fifth placed Premier League finishes.
The Sun also revealed though that Wrexham, Brentford and West Ham are also exploring Vardy as an option to boost their own forward lines.

Football Insider Verdict
Adam Idah has yet to strike for Celtic this season, and the Hoops require extra firepower if they are to progress in the Champions League.
Vardy managed to net nine Premier League goals last season despite playing in a woeful Leicester side.
Celtic will likely see plenty of possession in their Champions League play-off against Kairat Almaty next, but the Hoops must take an advantage over to Kazakhstan or face an embarrassing exit at the first hurdle.
A striker of Vardy’s calibre and experience is therefore a necessity for Celtic and Idah must not carry the burden of being the player to score the goals all season long.
