Tottenham fans are all in a state of shock after a huge announcement about Daniel Levy’s ownership was released by the club.
Daniel Levy became Tottenham‘s chairman in 2001 after he took over from Lord Alan Sugar, and his time in charge of the North London outfit has been pretty turbulent over the last 24 years.
Tottenham have failed to sign a number of top targets under Levy’s stewardship over the years, and fans have grown tired of their constant failures in the market, with many wanting him to leave his post as a result.
He has certainly been a divisive figure in recent times, but they have had success away from the pitch with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opening in 2019 as one of the most impressive of its kind in world football.
Levy has been backed to sell Tottenham following their Europa League triumph in May, and a surprising new update has now emerged on his future at the club which has sent fans into a frenzy.

Tottenham posted a bombshell announcement about Levy to their official X account on Thursday (4 September), saying: “Tottenham Hotspur announces departure of Executive Chairman Daniel Levy.”
Their club statement included a statement from Levy following the shock news of his departure, as he wrote: “I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees.
We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level…

“I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years.
I will continue to support this club passionately.”
This news came completely out of the blue for the general public, but many Spurs supporters are pleased at Levy’s exit due to their struggles to progress on the pitch under his stewardship in recent years.
In reaction to the announcement, one fan took to X to ask: “Daniel Levy did what?,” while many flocked to the replies of Spurs’ post, with one saying: “This is the greatest day of my life.”
