Arne Slot has been urged to contemplate dropping Mohamed Salah from Liverpool's starting XI.

Hamann continued by suggesting that Salah's restricted involvement may have compelled him to overcompensate, attempting to produce something remarkable in the limited opportunities he received.

Nevertheless, Salah acknowledged their partnership lacks fluidity at present.

He drew comparisons with the seamless understanding he previously enjoyed with team-mates such as Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and the late Diogo Jota.

Ekitike was brought in to inject new vitality, but the absence of instant rapport with Salah - Liverpool's attacking cornerstone for almost ten years - might account for some of the early-season irregularities, and with Isak now also part of the equation, the task of developing understanding could require more time than expected.

Hamann's suggestion that Salah should occasionally be given a rest aligns well with these challenges.

If his speed is indeed diminishing and partnerships with new players are not yet seamless, Slot may need to rotate his squad more audaciously.

He has already shown adaptability, moving Szoboszlai to right back in the absence of Jeremie Frimpong - a decision that proved highly effective.

And with 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who netted a dramatic last-minute winner against Newcastle to become Liverpool's youngest scorer, vying for chances, along with Isak's addition bolstering the squad, Slot has plenty of choices.

The key will be achieving equilibrium: get it right, and Liverpool remain at the front of the pack, but falter, and the door opens wide for their title competitors.

Opting to rest Salah, even temporarily, would be a daring move.
