Liverpool have continued to make sure the memory of Diogo Jota is never forgotten on Merseyside and beyond.
The club officially unveiled their new home and away kits for the 2025/26 campaign, with the reception being very positive.
In what is described as a “nice touch” by ESPN reporter Beth Lindop, the club shop has displayed a newly released squad list prominently that has Diogo Jota alongside the number 20, with the poignant designation “Forever 20” – ensuring the late Portuguese forward remains forever part of Liverpool’s official squad.

The touching gesture was spotted at the club shop at Anfield today, as Liverpool officially launched their new Adidas kits and revealed their squad numbers for the upcoming season.
It comes after the Reds retired Jota’s shirt number last month.
This marks the first time in Liverpool’s 133-year history that a player’s squad number has been permanently retired, with the club making the unprecedented decision after consulting with Jota’s wife Rute and his family
Fans will see the new kits in action soon, with the men’s first team debuting the home kit during their pre-season double-header against Athletic Club at Anfield on August 4, and the away kit during the Community Shield against Crystal Palace on August 10.
The women’s team will first wear the new home kit on September 7 against Everton and the away kit on September 14 against Leicester City.
