Many rival teams shared tributes to Jota after Liverpool confirmed his death, with Manchester United posting: "Our deepest condolences are with the loved ones of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre, and everyone connected with Liverpool FC."
Everton, meanwhile, said in a statement: "Everyone at Everton is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
Our hearts go out to the family, friends and loved ones of Diogo and his brother, Andre.
