Gondomar Sport Club has revealed it will honor Diogo Jota and Andre Silva in its 2025/26 kits, with an imprint of the players included in the new jerseys.
Gondomar was the first club of the siblings who tragically passed away last month in a devastating car crash.
The brothers also grew up in the municipality, which is located just east of Porto, and it’s where they were sadly buried last month.
The club’s academy is also named in honor of Jota, the most famous former son of the youth team.
All three of the clubs’ shirts this season include an image of the brothers, while the names “Diogo Jota e Andre Silva” are printed on the back of all shirts.
In announcing the news, Gondomar wrote on Instagram: “More than a jersey, an eternal tribute.”
“This season, Gondomar Sport Clube takes the field with a heart full of memory and emotion.
“Our new jersey features a large image of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, two sons of Gondomar who left us too soon, but who will live forever in the history of our club and our football.

Dalot was among the Manchester United contingent to leave a tribute to Jota outside Anfield
Diogo Dalot, who played with Jota at Porto and on the international scene, was among those who traveled to the town for the funeral this month.
He paid tribute to the Liverpool star earlier this week
I felt the whole world felt it, even if they didn't know him personally.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool, like Gondomar, will honor Jota on this season’s kit, with a special “forever 20” logo in the middle of the jersey
