Diogo Jota's tragic passing has sent shockwaves through the footballing world after the Liverpool FC star died in a car crash in Spain.

Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, were killed in a crash just days after his wedding day alongside his long-term partner and mother to his three children, Rute Cardoso, on June 22, 2025.

Cardoso shared images on Instagram just three days ago of her and Jota enjoying their special day, with the caption: "My dream came true."



Cardoso had followed Jota throughout his career with the two first getting together in their school days, when the Portuguese sensation had been destined for big things.
