Liverpool have been chasing a striker all summer long and they appear to have found their man.
One thing the Reds have been synonymous with throughout their history is having iconic strikers, with the number of world-class finishers they have had being too many to count.
However, as of late, they have struggled in this department, with Liverpool never managing to replace Roberto Firmino to the extent to which they would have liked to.
Darwin Nunez was supposed to be the heir to his throne but his move simply has not worked out, and now the Reds are trying again, this time in the form of Hugo Ekitike.
Not too many fans will have likely watched much of him during his time in the Bundesliga, but to help build a picture of what type of player he will be, ex-Red Djibril Cisse has compared him to someone he used to be teammates with.

Ekitike is certainly arriving with a lot of pressure on his shoulders, mainly due to the £69m price tag, that could rise to £79m, that is hanging over his head.
Many supporters, as well as rival fans, will want to know what he will bring to the Premier League, and one man who knows just that is his fellow countryman Cisse.
The former Liverpool forward has played with some top players in his time, but there is one in particular who Ekitike reminds him of, with Cisse telling L’Equipe that he has similarities to Peter Crouch.

“He would’ve been crazy not to go,” Cisse said.
In his profile he is a bit of a ‘target man’, like Peter Crouch – he’s the only one in the squad.

“In Germany, he might have had more time to express himself.
At Liverpool, maybe some came too young or weren’t ready.”
At six feet, three inches, Ekitike is still a good four inches shorter than Crouch, and based on his overall game, it suggests he could offer a little more than the Englishman was able to.
Although Ekitike is still a good target man and could be used in that way, it is highly unlikely given Liverpool’s style of football.
As well as this, the Reds would not pay such a big transfer fee if he was not capable of offering the team more as well, with the Frenchman much more of a facilitator than perhaps many realise.
Ekitike is similar to Firmino in the sense that he likes to bring others into the game and is equally adept at creating chances as he is finishing them.
However, despite the Brazilian being a better finisher than people give him credit for, Ekitike, hopefully, will score a lot more also, especially given the players around him.
Cisse is right to some extent and a bit of ‘Crouchy’ may creep into his game, but Liverpool supporters should be encouraged that he also brings a lot more at the same time.
