Liverpool are still ready and waiting to pounce for Alexander Isak but the player himself might have to take matters into his own hands.
The Reds have made bold moves this summer but the biggest and boldest could still be yet to come, although things could get very complicated.
What everyone knows so far is that Isak wants to leave Newcastle to go to Liverpool, with the Reds also desperate to bring him in.
However, Newcastle do not want to sell and will only do so if they find a suitable replacement, something they are finding very hard to do.
That being said, the whole saga has hit a bit of a stalemate and Ben Foster believes that Isak himself is the only person who can change the trajectory of what happens next.

Things are starting to get a little messy between Newcastle and Isak, with the Swede training by himself after not going on their pre-season tour of Asia.
Eddie Howe’s fierce warning now has actions behind it and the route back to the first team looks to be a long one, although it is not quite beyond the point of no return just yet.
If Isak does want to move, though, something has to change, and relatively swiftly too given how soon the new season begins, with Foster believing he needs to make a real point by issuing a public transfer request.

“If you want to go, you need to put a press statement out saying ‘I Alexander Isak want to leave the football club because I want to leave to a Premier League winning team,'” Foster said on the Fozcast.

“If you do that, Newcastle should say ‘cool, we’ll put our press conference out saying Alexander wants to go, we want £150m, once that has been met, we’ll let him go’.”
So far, the 25-year-old has submitted an unofficial request by expressing to the management his desire to leave, although his wish is not being granted thus far.
Therefore, although it will cause even more problems, issuing a statement might be the best approach, at least for Liverpool that is.
At this point, Isak’s relationship with the Newcastle fans, as well as the players and management staff, looks very hostile, with it being near-impossible to resolve.
So, with the damage already done, really pushing for a move will not really affect him too much, and he might just end up getting what he wants.
Newcastle are one of the most loyal fanbases there is so now that he has shown a willingness to turn his back on them, they will now likely do the same, but they will not let him forget it no matter what.
With the transfer window shutting in less than a month’s time, and the Premier League just very nearly here, something has to change and fast, or else this could drag on forever.
