Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai celebrates with the Premier League trophy(Image: PAUL ELLIS/AFP via Getty Images) )
Dominik Szoboszlai was the first to admit he had made a mistake during his debut season at Liverpool.
And a few weeks into his sophomore campaign, the midfielder vowed not to repeat the error.
"Last year I spoke too much about titles and everything and of course we won one (trophy) and we had the chance to be up there until almost the very end," he said.
"But we go game by game."
Such a focused outlook served not only the player but also Liverpool well as, under new head coach Arne Slot, the Reds romped to a record-equalling 20th league championship.

Szoboszlai was very much a central figure in the success even if, like the previous term, he suffered somewhat from fatigue at spells during the second half of the season.
Similar to several other players, the Hungary international benefited from clarity over his role, having been told by Slot he would be competing with Harvey Elliott for the number 10 role given a shift in tactics to 4-2-3-1.
Szoboszlai did feature as a defensive midfielder for parts of pre-season, but won the battle to start in the attacking role for the Premier League opener at promoted Ipswich Town during which he created a goal for Mohamed Salah.

Another such assist in the 3-0 win at Manchester United a fortnight later cemented his place in the side, with Szoboszlai going to feature in all 36 league games for which he was available, 29 as a starter.
The 24-year-old responded to Slot's call for greater output with a strike in the 3-1 Champions League win at AC Milan in September, and finished the season strongly with a goal and three assists in the final five games to finish with eight and nine respectively.
But there were spells where Szoboszlai's all-action style and responsibility to lead the press saw him appear jaded, not least during the defeat at Fulham.
While he scored and assisted in the 6-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur before Christmas, arguably Szoboszlai's best game was with a similar contribution in the 2-0 win at Manchester City in which, rather than as the number 10, he was employed alongside Curtis Jones as a false number nine.
And it was a stint in a deeper role in the penultimate game at Brighton that perhaps offered a hint at what may be to come for Szoboszlai given the expected arrival of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen as the first-choice number 10.
Szoboszlai's versatility means he has already featured successfully in all three central midfield roles during his two years at the club.
That will stand him in good stead for what will once again be a busy season for Liverpool's engine room dynamo.
