Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has delivered a heartfelt message to supporters following Hungary's World Cup qualifiers during the recent international break.

Marco Rossi's team currently occupies third position in its World Cup qualification group and is battling to secure its spot in the finals taking place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer.

The latest international fixtures saw Hungary forced to settle for a 2-2 stalemate against the Republic of Ireland.

Adam Idah's 93rd-minute leveller meant they had to accept just one point from that encounter despite establishing a commanding 2-0 advantage within the opening 15 minutes.

However, despite establishing an early advantage in the match, they ultimately succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.

On Wednesday, Szoboszlai shared a message with Hungary supporters via his Instagram account.

He uploaded images from both fixtures, accompanied by a caption that translates to: "We're over two emotional games, and I feel like there was more than one point in this.

Thank you for the amazing support, we will come back in October!"

The post received likes from numerous Liverpool teammates, demonstrating their solidarity.

Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Federico Chiesa, Wataru Endo, and Cody Gakpo were amongst those to show their appreciation for the post.

Szoboszlai is set to return to Liverpool duties, rejoining the squad this week as the Reds gear up for their Premier League encounter with Burnley at Turf Moor this weekend.

The midfielder will be keen to replicate his performance from the Reds' last match

In that game, Szoboszlai netted a spectacular free kick, securing what could prove to be a vital three points against Arsenal prior to the international break.

Szoboszlai may continue playing at right-back for Liverpool, allowing Florian Wirtz to continue in midfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.

Yet Conor Bradley could reclaim the right-back spot after recovering from injury to represent Northern Ireland during the international break.
