Roy Keane has labelled Liverpool’s transfer target, Jamal Musiala, as a ‘wonderful talent’, but it wasn’t before he jibed at England by stating they have had a ‘taste of their own medicine’ regarding the Bayern Munich forward’s option to represent Germany, as he told ITV Sport.
But he opted to play for the country of his birth – Germany – and Roy Keane couldn’t help but mention how England have taken players from other nations, most notably former Republic of Ireland duo, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish.
Well, whilst England smashed Iran for six in their World Cup opener, including Bellingham opening the scoring and Grealish also getting on the scoresheet, it was a defeat for Musiala on his World Cup bow because Germany suffered a shock loss to Japan.
Nonetheless, Keane spoke highly about Musiala and the difficulty he had to make when choosing between Germany and England.
“He’s a kid, he’s learning his trade and what a place to be learning (World Cup),” said Keane.
“They have taken players.
But a wonderful talent.
