Dutch journalist Suleyman Ozturk has taken aim at pundits who claimed they had not heard of the incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot.

In the past two seasons, Slot has won the Dutch domestic cup and the Eredivisie at the Rotterdam club.

Unsurprisingly, knowledge of his style has been unknown prior to Slot being linked with the Liverpool job.
Taking issue with the English coverage of Slot, he said: "About the English, you can say that they are islanders and they have a habit of not looking beyond the island.
"The English clubs are a bit more advanced than the public and analysts because a lot of nonsense comes out.
That you don’t know Arne Slot, for me that’s a reason to take you off the air.
"Whatever country you live or work in, that’s just crazy.
That Slot is not known to the Liverpool public, I understand that.
"You’re a Liverpool fan and you sit down to watch Feyenoord, then you’d have a strange hobby.
