Wim Kieft has now shared one specific thing Arne Slot could find difficult at Liverpool.

The Dutchman is widely expected to take over from Jurgen Klopp this summer, and the 45-year-old even told Gary Cotterill of Sky Sports that he is confident about an official announcement happening soon.

However, Dutch football pundit Kieft – who made 43 appearances for the Netherlands during his playing career – has now shared one thing Arne Slot might find tough at Liverpool…

Effectively, Klopp’s impending replacement has been told to be wary of player power at Anfield.

Kieft told the KieftJansenEgmondGijp podcast: “I heard that you all thought Slot was a very good trainer.

I still have to see it, because there is a whole different pressure involved in Liverpool.

Players with a much bigger mouth, of course.”

Of course, Liverpool is a significant step up to Feyenoord – with all due respect to the Eredivisie outfit – given the rich history of the Reds, and the task of replacing one of the greatest coaches Anfield has seen in Klopp.

Jamie Redknapp is another – more local – pundit who has expressed surprise at the imminent appointment.

However, we do not expect player power to be a problem for Slot at Liverpool.

In our view, Klopp brought together such a good group of people – not just a squad of excellent footballers – during his time on Merseyside, with his famous ‘no ___hole’ policy there for all to see.

As quoted by Squawka, the German said back in 2016: “I would never sign an ___hole just because he’s great at football.”

This policy has led to the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Andy Roberson and Trent Alexander-Arnold all assuming leadership roles at Liverpool, with these four more likely to help Slot – who already has a transfer target in mind – keep things in order rather than kick up a fuss.

Hopefully, every player buys into the Dutchman’s ideas, and can make life after Klopp run smoothly.
