Liverpool have picked up where they left off last season in scoring the most goals in the early knockings of the Premier League.
The Reds comfortably out-scored everyone else during 2024/25, hitting 86 league goals.
Just three matches in, and Liverpool are already leading the way having bagged eight times.
That Arne Slot is adding Alexander Isak into that mix is an ominous sign for the rest of the Premier League, with the Liverpool squad now boasting the top two scorers from the division last season.
The man atop that list was of course Mohamed Salah, who will be aiming for a record-breaking fourth Golden Boot despite a slow-ish start.
Salah now has a real challenger for the mantle of Liverpool top scorer, though, and as Isak prepares to make his debut in a week’s time, pundits Steve Nicol and Frank Leboeuf have predicted which player will score the most.

Salah has been Liverpool’s top scorer in every single season since he joined the club in 2017.
Sadio Mane often gave the Egyptian a run for his money, but since the Senegalese left, Salah has been out on his own.

That could change this season.
It isn’t only Isak who has been brought in, but Hugo Ekitike as well.
“The others, we don’t know what’s going to happen between Gakpo, Isak and Ekitike.
Will he only play in the League Cup and substitute Isak?
Unlike the other forwards at Slot’s disposal, he has not started the season as a Liverpool player.

Nevertheless, he is not a million miles away despite having missed the opening four games of the campaign.
No doubt to Leboeuf’s delight, Ekitike currently leads the way, and is the only Liverpool player to have scored more than once so far.
The 23-year-old has three goals in all competitions.
Elsewhere, Salah has scored only once, while Federico Chiesa, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Rio Ngumoha, Jeremie Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai all have one goal each as well.
It won’t be long before Isak begins to shoot up that list, but it would be a big achievement if he can out-score Salah in his first season.
