Liverpool are still waiting patiently for Alexander Isak but they might not have an answer for the majority of August.

Reds fans will have felt like they have been dreaming this summer as their club have managed to pull off some deals that have been nothing short of sensational.

The dream might not be over just yet either, with Isak still desperately wanting a move to Anfield despite his parent club refusing to negotiate until they have signed a replacement.

The new season is also now right around the corner and the transfer window shuts in less than a month’s time, meaning time is running out for a deal to happen.

If Newcastle allow him to go, Liverpool will be there and ready to pounce, but Reds fans have been told what the most likely outcome is if things do not gain traction quickly.

When a player wants out of a club, often teams allow them to go as it seems a little problematic to keep hold of an individual who clearly has his eyes set elsewhere.

This situation is a little different, however, and it is clear they really do not want to lose their star player, although all the signs point to the fact that it is inevitable.

Journalist Craig Hope, though, believes that it might still be possible that he plays for Newcastle again and stays for the season, with this becoming more likely as the days go by.

“This with each passing day becomes more likely, and it is that Alexander Isak stays at Newcastle against his will and wishes,” Hope said on his YouTube channel.

“After they tried and failed to get those replacements in, he might say ‘OK guys, I’ll come back in and I’ll play next season’.

“With each passing day, minute and hour, that becomes more likely because I don’t think come September 1st, if he hasn’t been sold, he would say ‘no, I’m not playing,’ that’s no good for anyone.”

Hope believes this despite Isak insisting that he will never play for Newcastle again, suggesting that the amount of information being spread is making the saga a lot more confusing.

Throughout this summer the possession of power has switched between Newcastle and Isak, but now it seems to be Liverpool in the best position possible.

It is clear that they have caused a huge problem and that it will need to be resolved one way or the other, with Isak obviously making his intentions very clear.

Newcastle may now feel like they have to sell as the situation is untenable, although they might not get their £150m asking fee as the Reds know they will not have to go that high.

Around £120m will likely be enough to force the Magpies’ hands, with Liverpool and Isak getting the outcome they wanted, while Newcastle still get a decent amount of profit for a player who really does not want to be there.
