Eddie Howe has revealed that Alexander Isak has a 'chance' of being fit for Newcastle United’s showdown with Everton.
The Magpies head into Sunday’s final-day Premier League clash against David Moyes’ side knowing victory would book them a place in next season’s Champions League.
But Isak was forced to miss Newcastle's last game at Arsenal due to a groin issue, and there had been fears he could miss this weekend’s game at St James’ Park.
And speaking on Friday morning, Howe revealed: "Alex is doing okay, hasn’t trained with us yet but has made good progress.
"[The] next few days will be crucial to his availability for the weekend.
We will leave the decision on Alex until tomorrow."

Isak has become one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League, having scored 27 goals and provided six assists in 41 appearances this campaign.
The forward’s impressive form has led to him being linked with a move to Liverpool, with Arne Slot having previously confirmed his side are in the market for a number nine this summer.
But looking ahead to this weekend’s game, Howe is convinced his forward has one big moment left in him.

Asked if he was confident Isak could be replaced if he is unable to feature, Howe said: "I am confident because I don’t think we are ever truly reliant on one player.
"The team’s strength is the team.
Yes, to have a good team, you need good individuals within it, but we pride ourselves on being very team-orientated and team-focused because we know every single member of it is so important to the delivery of what we do.
"And that will be the case if Alex doesn’t make it.
