With Liverpool reportedly circling and speculation heating up, manager Eddie Howe has finally spoken on the matter — and while he remains hopeful, it’s clear things aren’t so simple.

Isak, who has missed Newcastle’s entire pre-season tour, is said to be considering his next move.

His camp reportedly believes he’s ready for the next step — and that step may lead him straight to Anfield.

While Howe insists there have been no formal offers, he didn’t hide his concern when asked about the situation.

Speaking to the media in Seoul, the Newcastle boss said (via Sky Sports), “He is still our player.

We, to a degree, control what is next for him.”

But he also added, “My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control.”

“We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club.

Newcastle say it’s due to a minor thigh problem, but fans aren’t buying it.

Isak’s silence speaks volumes.

And if Liverpool do return with a record-breaking offer, Newcastle might have to rethink their stance.
