Newcastle star Alexander Isak has been given a gentle nudge regarding his duties by a concerned Eddie Howe, after he threw his future into fresh doubt amid interest from Liverpool.
Isak has received full backing from Howe to remain the spearhead of Newcastle's attack, but he's been warned that reclaiming his spot won't be straightforward – a rigorous fitness check awaits him first.
Despite missing the team's pre-season tour in South Korea and thus losing out on vital training and match fitness, Isak hasn't reached out to Howe.
A hefty bid exceeding $133M (£100m) for Isak was lodged last Friday, but Howe has confirmed that the Reds haven't followed up with another offer.

With indications that Isak will rejoin training, Howe set clear expectations from the coaching staff, especially since the potential move to Liverpool wasn't imminent when Newcastle embarked on their 14-hour return flight from Seoul, reports Chronicle Live.
Howe remarked: "He's like any other player, we would expect him to come in and train as normal." In response to queries about further contact from Liverpool, Howe mentioned: "Not as far as I know."
Howe, who is effectively the head of the transfer committee, is well aware of the situation, but the gravity of Isak's absence from training after missing the Far East trip, coupled with the forward training solo in Spain, could escalate.
Howe openly acknowledged the issue when questioned about the implications of Isak skipping team training at Benton while the squad was back in Newcastle, suggesting it would be seen differently now.
