Newcastle star Alexander Isak has been given a gentle nudge regarding his duties by a concerned Eddie Howe, after he threw his future into fresh doubt amid interest from Liverpool.

Isak has received full backing from Howe to remain the spearhead of Newcastle's attack, but he's been warned that reclaiming his spot won't be straightforward – a rigorous fitness check awaits him first.

Despite missing the team's pre-season tour in South Korea and thus losing out on vital training and match fitness, Isak hasn't reached out to Howe.
