Liverpool’s pursuit of a new centre-forward has intensified today, with fresh details emerging about Hugo Ekitike’s imminent arrival at Anfield.
The 23-year-old French striker is understood to have been granted permission by Eintracht Frankfurt to travel to Merseyside for a medical examination, putting the finishing touches on what is another mega transfer by the Anfield club.
But now the Bundesliga side may have confirmed that Ekitike is Anfield bound.
Announcing their squad for their summer camp, Frankfurt have confirmed that the Frenchman alongside a few other players have been “released” from their duties due to transfer negotiations with other clubs:
“Junior Dina Ebimbe, Aurélio Buta, Hrvoje Smolcic, Mo Dahoud and Hugo Ekitiké are exempt for talks with other clubs and do not travel to the training camp,” the club’s official X account posted.
