Liverpool have been extremely respectful with their gestures to pay tribute to recently deceased Diogo Jota, but this touching move will definitely make you tear up.
The past few weeks have been pretty hard for the Jota family and the Merseyside club as well, as they suffered the loss of Diogo Jota alongside his brother Andre Silva in a tragic car accident in Spain.
Condolences, tributes, testimonials, messages, murals, commemorations, homages and much more have been done to show respect to the late brothers.
Numerous executives, managers, players and fans laid their tributes at Anfield, showing respect and a deep state of mourning.
The club has already taken several steps in honour of the late Portuguese international, including the decision to pay the wages of Jota to his family until his contract expires.
And perhaps the most heartwarming moment amid all the sadness has been the Reds’ decision to retire the No.
20 across all levels at the club.

Apart from immortalising Diogo Jota by retiring his shirt number, Liverpool also did something that can definitely be labelled as ‘beautiful’.
The club website’s men’s squad for this season has been updated with profiles of all the existing and new players, players out on loan and most surprisingly, a section titled ‘FOREVER’ that features his profile.
The profile starts by stating his date of birth, nationality and honours at club level.
Then it reads, “Diogo Jota is immortalised as Liverpool Football Club’s number 20 forever.“
After that, the website reconfirms their decision of retiring his jersey and other formalities, followed by enlisting his career achievements and stats.
The concluding lines state, “As his own supporter chant referenced so often, his name was Diogo and he took us to victory.
He will always be our number 20.”
