Enzo Maresca has revealed what Marc Guiu must do to earn game time at Chelsea after he was recalled from his loan spell with Sunderland.
Maresca heavily bolstered his frontline in the summer transfer window with the acquisitions of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
However, Delap suffered a hamstring injury, leaving Chelsea short of striking options, which meant that the West Londoners recalled Guiu from the North East.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson left Chelsea in favour of Bayern Munich, and even featured against the Blues as a substitute in the Champions League.

After Chelsea lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, 17 September, the West London club are vying to bounce back with a Premier League triumph over Manchester United on Saturday, 20 September.

Speaking about the 19-year-old in his press conference on Friday, 19 September, Maresca said: “Marc is back because the intention is to use him.
“He needs to do things better and improve things and for sure we are going to use him.”
It remains to be seen whether Guiu will feature for Chelsea in their vital Premier League encounter with Man United on 20 September.

But regardless of whether the 19-year-old features against the Red Devils, Maresca needs to better the Stamford Bridge outfit’s woeful record at Old Trafford.
Chelsea haven’t defeated Man United on away soil in the Premier League since 2013, which is a poor record the Blues desperately need to arrest.
Dropping points in the North West on 20 September would already damage their title credentials, amid the strong form of defending Premier League champions Liverpool.
Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw with Brentford in their last top-flight game on Saturday, 13 September, before suffering a convincing defeat to Bayern Munich in their first Champions League outing.
But they must enjoy a positive result against Man United to maintain pace with the likes of Liverpool and London rivals Arsenal.
