Jack Grealish’s move from Manchester City to Everton will bring an end to his partnership with Erling Haaland at the Etihad Stadium.
Grealish and Haaland moved to Man City in subsequent summers for a combined £151.2million back in 2021 and 2022 respectively, and their trophy cabinets have become littered with silverware ever since.
Haaland‘s return of 22 Premier League goals and 34 in all competitions is the lowest of his three seasons at Man City so far, but he is still central to Pep Guardiola‘s plans and has been elevated to vice-captain.
The same can’t be said for Grealish this summer though and his cards have been marked at the Etihad since Guardiola left him out of Man City’s Club World Cup squad, as an exit route beckons for the winger.

Football Insider revealed last month that Man City were happy to wait until the end of the window before deciding Grealish’s next move, amid concerns that his wages would hinder a move to most clubs.
Everton have since broken the negotiating deadlock to agree a season-long loan deal for Grealish, with his move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium including a £50million option to buy at the 29-year-old’s behest.
Grealish therefore looks set to bring his four-year chapter at Man City to an end, and as his team-mate prepares to head for pastures new, Haaland posted on Instagram (12 August) to say his goodbyes.

Football Insider Verdict
Man City’s transfers have made clear that Guardiola sees no way back for Grealish with Rayan Cherki potentially taking his spot on the left flank, albeit that place was rarely occupied by Grealish last season.
At Everton, Grealish will immediately become the most high-profile player in David Moyes‘ squad, but the Scot has been backed to get the best out of Grealish this season with the World Cup on the horizon.
Grealish’s exuberance at Aston Villa saw Man City shell out a British record of £100million to sign him back in 2021, and fans of all parties will be hoping that he can rediscover his best form on Merseyside.
