Man City players were quick to respond after the club confirmed yet another departure in what has been a relentless summer of change at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has overseen a significant shake-up of his squad for the 2025/26 campaign, aiming to refresh and rebuild following last season’s setbacks.
Several new faces have already arrived, including James Trafford, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders, who has already impressed in a Man City shirt.
But while additions have been made, some of City’s biggest names have headed for the exit.
Kevin De Bruyne brought his nine-year stay at the club to an end with a move to Napoli, while former captain Kyle Walker sealed a surprise transfer to Burnley.
Now, another exit has been confirmed, sparking a wave of reaction from teammates and supporters alike as Guardiola continues to reshape his squad.

The club confirmed the news on Instagram with the caption: “James McAtee has joined Nottingham Forest on a permanent transfer.
We’d like to wish [McAtee] all the best for the future.”

Forest were able to strike a deal after City lowered their asking price for the midfielder.
Man City had initially demanded £35million for McAtee amid growing interest, but Forest have now secured the 22-year-old’s signature in a deal worth £30m.
Football Insider revealed that McAtee had been pushing for a move away from Man City due to his lack of playing time, having started just nine games last season.
He has now earned the opportunity to establish himself in the Premier League with Forest.

McAtee’s departure is not the only potential exit on the horizon, with Savinho also understood to be pushing for a move away from the Etihad.
As reported by Football Insider, former Spurs scout Mick Brown revealed that Savinho is keen to leave Man City to join Tottenham, with the North London club already seeing one bid rejected.
The Brazilian is eager to secure more regular minutes after making 21 league starts last term, and the prospect of increased game time at Spurs is believed to be a key factor in his decision.
