Liverpool and Everton have been briefed on the rule changes set to be introduced in the upcoming Premier League season.
There are two significant changes for Premier League clubs, starting with VAR.
IFAB has declared that leagues will be granted permission for their referees to clarify VAR calls in the stadium via the speaker systems.
This will occur when there has been a VAR review or an extended VAR check, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The Premier League announced in February that they were hopeful of implementing this change at the beginning of the 2025/26 season.
From next season, keepers will be allowed to hold onto the ball for eight seconds, up from the previous six.

However, after three seconds, the referee will raise their arm and count down from five to ensure the goalkeeper releases the ball within the time limit.
For instance, referees will enforce that corners are taken on the side closest to where the goalkeeper was positioned when the corner was conceded by them.
In addition, if a player who is off the field of play as a substitute or injured or a coach kicks the ball on the pitch, an indirect free kick will be awarded, but no further sanctions given.

This is to prevent situations where players and coaches have kicked the ball while still in play, in an attempt to keep the game flowing.
Previously, players and coaches would have been booked for that offence.
Liverpool begin their defence of the Premier League title at home to Bournemouth on August 15, while Everton travel to Leeds for their first game of the campaign three days later
