Everton fans were in shock at the disgraceful performance of Beto in the 2-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Lack of squad depth ahead of the match continued to be an issue for the Toffees, with sources telling Football Insider on 19 September that Everton are exploring a move for Sergio Reguilon in the January transfer window to support Vitaliy Mykolenko.
The blue half of Merseyside are also looking to bolster their midfield with Everton monitoring Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma after the Malian was cast out by Thomas Frank.
Yet, Evertonians were appalled by the display of striker Beto in the Merseyside derby as the number nine struggled once again.

During the summer transfer window, Football Insider revealed that Leeds United were considering a bid for Beto, which the Toffees should have entertained in retrospect.
The former Udinese forward couldn’t latch onto passes into him as his desperation to score was overly apparent, with one fan blasting the number nine by saying: “Beto probably the worst player in the league.”
The introduction of Thierno Barry at half-time was greatly received by the Everton faithful, with one fan commenting: “Barry clearly 10 times the player Beto is.” Another added: “Barry has already held the ball up and linked play more than Beto did.”

Further supporters slammed the Guinea-Bissau international, stating: “Everton should’ve made sure Beto never played more than 10 games each this season.” With another fan responding: “Pointless starting Beto every game literally offers nothing, Barry could be gaining vital experience.”
On top of the towering striker failing the eye test amongst the Everton faithful, the statistics also back up the fans’ growing concerns.
The 27-year-old touched the ball just 11 times in 45 minutes, losing the ball six times, which highlighted his poor retention of the ball.

He also only found two of his five passes, which broke down the Toffees’ opportunities to hit Liverpool on the attack.
The Portuguese only managed one shot during the game, which he completely skewed high into the Anfield sky and swiftly prompted David Moyes to take off the number nine during the interval.
