Liverpool are not done in the transfer market just yet and they are prepared to upset a few teams this summer.
The Reds’ business has been nothing short of sensational so far this summer and they have put themselves in the strongest possible position to retain their title.
They are not finished yet, however, and after agreeing a deal to sell Luis Diaz, with the Colombian set to finalise his transfer to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, they are eyeing up more arrivals.
Alexander Isak is the big one and the Reds are ready to place a bid for the Swede to test Newcastle’s resolve, although more attackers could still come in, mainly as a replacement for Diaz.
And, there is one player in particular who has left the door open for Liverpool despite their bitter rivals Everton desperately wanting him, with a potential hijack now on the cards.

Naturally, after losing a player of Diaz’s quality, the Reds might be thinking about replacing him, although this will likely happen once the Isak deal has either happened or not.
One player who has regularly been linked is Lyon’s Malick Fofana, with the Belgian on the radar of many clubs around Europe.
Bayern were one but they will likely cool their interest after signing Diaz, while the likes of Nottingham Forest and now Everton have entered ‘advanced talks’.

However, Liverpool have been keeping close tabs on Fofana recently and according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the winger is waiting for a Champions League club to come in for him.

With that being said, this will give the Reds even more time to perhaps make a move and suggests he would snub Everton for their closest rivals, with Fofana being a great option to replace Diaz with.
Liverpool have already shown this summer that they are capable of stealing other team’s targets, just like they did with Florian Wirtz and most recently Hugo Ekitike, and now Everton could be the latest team to be stung.
Tavolieri ends his update with ‘more to follow’, highlighting how there is still likely to be a twist in Fofana’s saga, and it might just be Liverpool the ones who cause this drastic turn of events.
Not many players are capable of filling the void that will be left by Diaz, but out of the few that can, Fofana is perhaps the best option.
Bradley Barcola is unavailable this summer, Rodrygo would be very expensive, while Fofana would be cheaper and not demand as much game time.
The 20-year-old would be more open to a rotational role next season and with his ability to play anywhere along the front line, he would be able to get plenty of chances to shine.
Costing around £50m, Fofana would still be a fairly expensive option but still less than what they are selling Diaz for, suggesting that the cheaper alternative might be the best route to go down after how much they have already spent.
