The 244th Merseyside derby will take place at Goodison Park tonight with Liverpool and Everton needing points at the opposite ends of the table.

Liverpool know a win will take them to the top of the Premier League, for now, with Manchester City to play Brighton on Thursday and Arsenal playing Spurs on Sunday.

The most recent game between the two sides came in October 2023 when Liverpool won 2-0 at Anfield thanks to goals from Mo Salah, however the Reds have not beaten Everton at Goodison since December 2021 when a 4-1 victory sealed the points.



Everton have won just one of the last 29 meetings between the two and haven't scored in the last four all-Merseyside meetings, they also haven't won the fixture in front of fans for fourteen years.

Last time out, Everton put more daylight between themselves and the relegation zone with a controversial 2- win over Nottingham Forest - a result that leaves Sean Dyche's side five points clear of Luton in 18th with a game in hand, while Liverpool returned to form with a 3-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
