Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions against Tottenham with a thumping 5-1 win at Anfield.
The Reds got the job over the line in fine fashion with Liverpool wrapping up the title before April is even out and with four games left to play, with supporters in a joyous mood after yesterday’s memorable result against Tottenham.
With Gary Neville praising Arne Slot’s midfield tactics for Liverpool, virtually everything that could have gone right for the Reds happened on the day, with fans waiting for this moment ever since the season began in August.
And Slot has now shared when he finally realised that Liverpool were going to win the Premier League this season.

Speaking to Match of the Day 2, the Liverpool head coach revealed that the team bus pulling into Anfield and seeing supporters made Slot realise that he and his squad were going to win the Premier League against Tottenham.
Liverpool fans were in an incredible mood outside Anfield pre-match with the support rolling into the stadium as the Reds pulled off one of their best results of the season to secure their second-ever Premier League title.
And Slot has said arriving at the stadium made him realise that Liverpool were going to win the league, with the former Feyenoord manager usually keeping a reserved and conservative opinion on when the Reds would secure the title.

Slot said: “The moment when we arrived with the bus, everybody could feel that we were never, ever going to lose this game.
The fans were so supportive before the game, during the game, that even when we were 1-0 down we could feel that this team and these fans were able to get this one over [the line].”
Nobody could have predicted Liverpool to go on to win the Premier League in Slot’s first season with the club, especially with Arsenal and Manchester City looking like nailed-on favourites to once again compete for the title before a ball had even been kicked this campaign.
Yet football is a funny game where fortune can look down upon an unlikely side, and Liverpool were certainly that team this season, with everything going right for Slot from players enjoying career-best years to no major injury problems.
Indeed, Slot has been the dream appointment for Liverpool, and with a big summer on the horizon, the Dutch coach will want to take his squad to the next level in what will be an exciting off-season for the Reds.
