Liverpool is set to beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Florian Wirtz, the exciting German playmaker, with sporting director Richard Hughes overseeing quite the coup.
But former Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller, who is currently a director for the German national team, has claimed that the decision for Wirtz to move to Anfield might actually have been made some time ago.
In Germany, the accepted school of thought for a long time was that he would be heading to Bayern Munich.
"It’s no secret that Wirtz would like to go to Liverpool," he told DAZN earlier this month.
As well as Wirtz, it is also looking to do a deal for the Bournemouth and Hungary left-back, Milos Kerkez.
