Ex-Fifa official: Liverpool have been totally exposed after update on 'abhorrent' controversy
A “shortfall” in the security system at Anfield has been exposed after Liverpool failed to identify the fan who threw a coin at Pep Guardiola in their 1-0 win over Man City on 16 October.
“Coin throwing is abhorrent, it’s just totally unacceptable.
“I think it’s a pretty poor show as far as Liverpool are concerned.”
The coin throwing was not the only off-field controversy during the game as Man City fans allegedly chanted and left graffiti about Hillsborough.
That is the view of ex-Fifa and Premier League referee Keith Hackett, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “abhorrent” incident that has gone unpunished.
