Ex-Liverpool star Stephen Warnock said he was mortified when he heard Gerard Houllier had taken over at Aston Villa.
The former full back had only just joined the Villans, having arrived from Blackburn 12 months prior, and worried his move would turn into a nightmare.
Speaking on the Undr The Cosh podcast, the 42-year-old said he bumped into Houllier at a charity match just after Martin O'Neil left Villa Park in 2010, and what he heard next made him feel sick to his stomach.

Warnock ended up staying another season for Villa before being loaned out to Bolton in 2012, and eventually sold to Leeds in 2013, and although Houllier was long gone by then, Warnock still blames the former France manager for torpedoing his career.
"I went from playing for England to training with Villa's reserves in two weeks," he said
