Mark Clattenburg has branded former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp "very strange" after recalling their encounters during his refereeing days.

However, Clattenburg has claimed that some of the outrage regarding Coote's comments about Klopp and Liverpool was misplaced.

"It's absolute rubbish," Clattenburg said.



No, it's just his honest opinion that he didn't like Jurgen Klopp.

"I didn't like Jurgen Klopp, I thought he was strange.

"Jurgen Klopp came in and I thought, 'This is bizarre, this,'" Clattenburg explained.

"And he just stared at us for like 30 seconds.

I was like, 'What a strange bloke.'"

Clattenburg discussed the challenges Coote will face regarding his career prospects following his dismissal by PGMOL and UEFA suspension.

"For example, Dave Coote, what he's gone through and somebody in his friendship group has decided to leak that video," Clattenburg said.
