Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has voiced his opinion that Marcos Senesi should have seen red for a handball incident during Liverpool's game against Bournemouth on Friday.
The Bournemouth player seemed to handle the ball in the first half at Anfield, blocking Mohamed Salah's pass to Hugo Ekitike, with the score still 0-0.
Referee Anthony Taylor, however, chose not to penalize Senesi for the incident, instead awarding a free-kick to Andoni Iraola's team.
Gallagher, on the other hand, is of the view that Taylor made an error and should have shown Senesi the red card.
"I think he's seen the ball fly up off Senesi, and he hasn't watched that (the handball).
"He's seen the ball hit the arm off the knee, and that's it.
Marcos Senesi handles the ball, denying Hugo Ekitike a run on goal, only to receive a yellow card
He can yellow-card him if he thinks he's too far from the goal.
"He should have gone to the screen and given a red card
The VAR cleared it really quickly, and he hasn't looked for the swipe.
"That's where the mistake was - it was cleared too quickly."
Former Premier League striker Jay Bothroyd has voiced his opinion on the controversial incident, stating: "You know what the most blatant thing about that is, though, it's come off of his knee, it's when he's actually gone to reach for the ball where he's clipped it and the ball's gone away.
"That's the red card
