Ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg once gave his backing to Jordan Henderson as the England star reportedly edges toward a move to Marseille.
Hojbjerg left north London to join the Ligue 1 side last summer on loan, and that move has now been made permanent with Spurs believed to have pocketed around £17million.
Rumours are now rife that Ajax star Henderson could be on his way to the Ligue 1 side too.
This is due to a clause in his contract that allows him to move on a free transfer this summer, with Marseille said to be eager to snap him up.
Should the ex-Liverpool captain make the move to France, the potential transfer already has the blessing of Hojbjerg.
Speaking ahead of Denmark's Euro 2020 semi-final with England, played in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dane shared his feelings on Henderson.
"I think England's squad overall are fantastic, their midfield as well," he said.
When you're able to bring on a Jordan Henderson, it's a big example of quality."
Henderson lifted both the Premier League and Champions League trophies as Liverpool's skipper.
Henderson has found more consistency in Francesco Farioli's Ajax team, which narrowly missed out on the Eredivisie title by a single point on the final day.

But it's been far from smooth sailing for him in Amsterdam, and with the World Cup less than a year away, it's believed that Henderson is still weighing up whether Ajax or Marseille can provide him with the best platform to display his talents on the European stage.
Henderson has been included in Thomas Tuchel's recent England squads, but his selection was met with some scorn as the Three Lions underperformed in their World Cup qualifiers.
The former Sunderland player could now be poised to join the likes of ex-Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood at Marseille, where under former Brighton manager Robert de Zerbi, the club finished second behind Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Henderson's readiness to move has also piqued the interest of Nottingham Forest, who are reportedly considering bringing the midfielder on board.
